Lilli Loge

Did you ever wanted to know, where Lilli Loge produces her amazing pieces of art? …No?… Anyway, here are some astonishing background-informations about my art:

Box of ideas: I collect my ideas on index cards. White cards are for ideas for my blog (comic-sport.blogspot.com.) Blue cards for surreal themes, red ones for erotic and yellow ones for others..

My desk: It is an old “Hellerau”-desk. My sister and I used it as children, when we got too old to draw on the floor. There is a lot of room to store material in the drawers. I have a big mirror in front of me, when I’m drawing, because I can’t get enough of my Oh so pretty face!.. No.. it helps me to draw things like hand-positions correctly. I hang my comics on a clothes line to dry and to get an overview of the story and to make corrections. Also you can see lot’s of different pens – most of them I rarely use. What you can’t see, because it’s too small: A piece of paper on the wall, saying: “Love what you do and be excited about it!”

Tools: Since I’m pretty self-critical erasers are of big importance for me. I use three different types: A normal one and two eraser-pens: one for middle and one for tiny details. Also I have a brush (originally for cosmetic use) to brush away those tiny things that result from erasing and have no (German) name. Recently I’m also starting to discover different tools for additional correction: White-out, cutter, scissors and glue and ….did I mention Photoshop? ; )

Pens: I wouldn’t recommend them, because they are pretty expensive, but I use Copic Multiliners. 0,25 is my favourite one. For broader outlines and black fills I use edding 1200 and 1300. But I start to like my new fehhaar-brush No.1 more… I’m experimenting with pen and ink, too. I chose the thinnest and softest one, I could find (like Jamie Hernandez recommended), but I still have the feeling, that it’s too broad for me.

Stamps: I’m feeling like a child when I’m stamping a comic, obvious, isn’t it?
